Amy Mertz, Owner & Licensed Massage Therapist
Massage therapy is a second career for me. I have balanced my role as a communications and public relations consultant with being a state licensed massage therapist for many years. After completing my training at Madison Area Technical College, I pursued further instruction in a variety of aspects of touch therapy, including trigger point therapy, head and neck pain treatment, massage ethics and more.
I see clients of all ages, from children to seniors. My specialty is in therapeutic massage for specific injuries or illness, incorporating deep tissue manipulation and trigger point therapy into my sessions. I also enjoy helping clients unwind through relaxation massage.
I have lived in the wonderful community of Mount Horeb since 1999, along with my husband and two daughters.
Liz Michelsen, Licensed Massage Therapist
Liz’s life was forever changed in 2011 when she began to receive cranial sacral therapy sessions for two years. Since then, Liz has been on a path of sharing her amazing experience. She became a Usui Reiki practitioner, and decided to change her career path in order to share her healing journey with all.
Liz graduated from Madison College in 2015, earning her Massage Therapy & Bodywork certificate. She will continue her education to someday be a Cranial Sacral Therapist, but until then, she is passionate about the healing touch that massage brings to everyone. She takes many continuing education workshops throughout the year. Since graduating, she has added myofacial, Seva acupressure, aromatherapy and trigger point work. Liz strives to provide a safe and welcoming environment for her clients, and will modify each session to meet the client’s individual needs.
Liz has been a licensed massage therapist in Madison, but recently became an empty nester, as her son went off on his own path in the adult world. So she’s moving closer to her roots, in the Mount Horeb and Barneveld area.
